Admittedly, it would’ve been kind of weird if the Buffalo Bills had quarterback Josh Allen and pass rusher Josh Allen on their roster.
But the Bills were preparing for just that notion.
It’s not a “break the bank” type of transaction for an NFL franchise, but according to the quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills did prepare for possibly drafting the Jaguars’ Josh Allen by purchasing a website domain before last year’s draft.
Prior to the 2017 NFL Draft, Barstool Sports led by their No this doesn’t, started a website, pre-draft, called DraftJoshAllen.com in honor of the Bills quarterback. Once the Bills did draft him, the team sent out this tweet. “wedraftedjoshallen.com”:

Did the Bills actually purchase that domain name? Jury is still out, but quarterback Josh Allen appeared on Pardon My Take once again on Monday and said the Bills did, however, that actual website domain is not in use. While saying that, the quarterback added an interesting nugget as well.
Just in case the Bills did draft the Jaguars’ Josh Allen, Buffalo’s Allen told the podcast that the Bills did, in fact, buy the domain name “wedraftedjoshallenagain.com” [we drafted Josh Allen again.]
“That would have been wild,” Allen told Pardon My Take on the prospects of playing with the other Josh Allen.
DraftJoshAllen.com, the first pre-2017 draft website is actually up and running still.
As the story goes, the Bills drafted defensive tackle Ed Oliver with their first-round pick in 2019 at ninth-overall. Buffalo actually ended up not having a chance at the second coming of Josh Allen because the Jaguars selected him at No. 7 overall.
Yes, seventh-overall, the same pick that Buffalo’s quarterback was taken the year prior, in another interesting twist.
So the question is, does that mean that Bills actually did want pass rusher Josh Allen instead of Ed Oliver? It probably means nothing since the Bills could have bought that website domain for one month leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft for a hefty $4 price tag via WordPress.
Nonetheless, still an intriguing PR idea by the Bills.
