Until Thursday, Andre Drummond had spent his entire 8-year NBA career with the Detroit Pistons, but the NBA’s leading rebounder was dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers before the NBA trade deadline for a woeful return that had NBA fans roasting the Pistons on social media.
Drummond, who has a player option in his contract worth $28.7 million, was offloaded by the Pistons in exchange for Brandon Knight, John Henson and a second-round pick.
According to Drummond, the Pistons did not give him a heads up on Thursday that he would be traded, and tweeted that he’s learned there’s “no friends or loyalty” in the NBA.
If there’s one thing I learned about the NBA, there’s no friends or loyalty. I’ve given my heart and soul to the Pistons , and to be have this happen with no heads up makes me realize even more that this is just a business! I love you Detroit…
