FOX Sports Radio personality suggest Giants should sign Tom Brady

A FOX Sports Radio personality suggested the absurd on Wednesday, saying the New York Giants should sign QB Tom Brady.

Next season, for the first time in long time, the New York Giants will be going in to a season with a starting quarterback other than Eli Manning.

When Big Blue hired their newest head coach Joe Judge earlier this month, having the youthful Daniel Jones under center for the future was likely a selling point for the job with the Giants.

However, one radio host suggests the Giants should pursue Tom Brady via free agency this offseason.

“How about the Giants replacing Eli Manning with Tom Brady? He could get a 3- or 4-year contract with the Giants,” Jason Smith said on Wednesday. “Joe Judge just took over, who was a wide receivers coach in New England. Brady is not going to play off the map somewhere in a place like Tennessee. He’s a big star and an icon, and by being in New York Brady can be a star on and off the field, and Gisele can continue to do things she wants to do in the entertainment mecca of the United States.

“Brady is not going to Carolina just because it’s a ‘good fit.’ He’s either going to New York or Los Angeles. The Giants will do something, and either move Daniel Jones or have him sit behind Brady for a year or two. The Giants would offer everything Brady needs to continue his career, and the NFC East is one of the weakest divisions in football.”

The notion by Jason Smith, though quite far-fetched, would reunite Tom Brady with Joe Judge.

Smith, who is on Fox Sports radio late at night, highlighted that Brady would have an easy path to the Super Bowl playing in potentially the worst division in football.

At 42 years old, Brady is closer to the end of his career than the beginning. It’s also hard to believe Brady would leave Bellichick & Co. in order to go end his career with the team that cost him two more Super Bowl rings. The potential move would leave the Giants in a complicated situation with young quarterback Daniel Jones — would they trade him or crush his confidence by benching him?

Hot takes like this will often come up during the offseason here and there. However, the move seems unlikely given the fact that Brady has spent his whole career with New England and the Giants lack an opening at the quarterback position.
