The NFL reinstated wide receiver Rodney Adams to the Indianapolis Colts roster from the Reserve/Retired list, the team announced Wednesday.
Adams signed a futures contract with the Colts during the 2018 offseason but was placed on the retired list a few months later. It isn’t clear why he was placed on the retirement list in the first place, but it appears he’s back.
Adams was a fifth-round pick with the Minnesota Vikings in the 2017 NFL draft. He hasn’t appeared in any game action since being drafted and will likely be battling for a roster spot this offseason.
The Colts are pretty thin at wide receiver, a position they are likely to address heavily this offseason. But Adams will get his shot at working with the team during the spring practices and potentially the preseason.
