ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan fans were ecstatic on Saturday when not only did junior forward Isaiah Livers suit up for the first time after missing six games with a groin injury, but he returned to the starting lineup as it were.
But, that joy was short-lived, as Livers went down, again, with injury, one that looked to be of a similar variety to what he sustained in December against Presbyterian.
With Nebraska coming up on Tuesday evening, Howard isn’t sure at the moment of the severity of Livers’ injury redux, noting that he — again — is back to being day-to-day.
“Day-to-day, that’s all I can tell you,” Howard said. “Day-to-day. He’s getting better.”
So, was it a re-aggravation of the same groin injury that he had before? It had the look of being just that, as the two plays where he was injured — against both Presbyterian and Illinois — looked quite similar.
Howard had little to say about that, again noting they hope he returns to the floor soon.
“It’s a day-to-day injury,” Howard said. “So we just pray that he gets better soon.”
Michigan and Nebraska tip-off in Lincoln on Tuesday evening at 7PM EST, with or without Livers in the lineup.
