Kevin Harlan is the GOAT play-by-play guy in all of sports. This shouldn’t even be a debate anymore. If he’s not showing everyone how to call a couple football games at once, he’s dominating while sitting courtside at a NBA game.
He was in Portland on Monday night for the Warriors-Trail Blazers game, which turned out to be a pretty great game between two teams with losing records. And if you just listened to Harlan on the call, you would have thought it was a pivotal playoff game, because he brought his normal incredible energy.
He showed once again that he knows how to perfectly handle a light moment when Hassan Whiteside was kneed in the groin:

I mean, come on. That was great.
He later showed his unrivaled ability to make key moments seem like unreal moments when he called this huge 3-pointer by Damian Lillard that sent the game to OT:

Harlan did it again in OT when Lillard hit another big 3-pointer that gave hime 57 points and tied up the game:

The Trail Blazers wound up winning the game thanks to Lillard’s 61 points.
Fans, meanwhile, rightfully sang Harlan’s praises:

Kevin Harlan so hyped lol good to see someone in NBA media has energy and love for the game

Kevin Harlan makes a pointless Warriors/Blazers game exciting while JVG/Jackson make premium matchups miserable.
Can't figure out why ratings are down though.

Kevin Harlan is so damn good. Makes a meaningless game sound like game 7 of the WCF

this blazer/warriors game is why kevin harlan is the best in the business. two of the worst teams in the west but harlan has made this game a great watch and even riveting at times imo.

This is why Kevin Harlan should be the number one play-by-play guy on TNT. Dramatically repeating 57 points the way he did, that would give me chills if I was a Trail Blazers fan https://t.co/rnoLwB8yEV
