It might have seemed like a foregone conclusion to some, but legacies or coach fathers aren’t always perfect indicators.
So when 2020 Miami (FL) University School three-star Jace Howard had to make a college decision, it wasn’t necessarily a shoo-in that he would follow in his father Juwan Howard’s footsteps.
Rated by the 247Sports Composite as the 183rd-rated player in the country, regardless of position, the 18th-best player in the state of Florida and the 34th-rated small forward, Howard’s inclusion would help boost an already stellar class, headlined by five-star Isaiah Todd and four-star center Hunter Dickinson.
And on Monday night, Howard made his decision between Michigan, Princeton and Brown, ultimately choosing to indeed follow in his father’s footsteps, he announced on Twitter.

With Howard’s pledge, Michigan remains fourth in the 2020 247Sports Team Rankings.
