Lonzo Ball retroactively awarded triple-double vs. Celtics

Lonzo Ball was credited with a triple-double for Saturday’s game against the Boston Celtics retroactively on Monday.

For the second time this season, Lonzo Ball was awarded a triple-double after the fact, his second triple-double of the season. The Pelicans announced on Monday afternoon that Ball had been credited with one more assist originally given to E’Twaun Moore.

Ball’s final stat line on the night is thusly 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. He finished 4-of-12 from the field and 2-of-6 from three.

Earlier this season, Ball was retroactively awarded a triple-double against the Houston Rockets. In that contest, Ball was awarded two assists a day after the game. In that contest, Ball finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

This is now the fifth triple-double in Ball’s career and his second with the Pelicans. Ball also became the seventh Pelican with multiple triple-doubles in the same season, joining Elfrid Payton, DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, Jamal Mashburn, Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo.
