The Cincinnati Bengals will get an up-close-and-personal look at Oregon Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert in a few weeks.
As announced by Jim Nagy above, Herbert has accepted an invite to participate in the event, giving the Bengals some serious time with a possible first-round passer.
There was a time Herbert was eyeballed as a top overall pick, especially after 2018 when he threw for 29 scores and eight picks. His stock has cooled since, which isn’t to say his 66.8 completion percentage with 32 scores and six picks in 2019 was middling.
While Joe Burrow and even Tua Tagovailoa are still considered more likely top overall picks at this point, Herbert has a chance to personally sway the Bengals in another direction and get his name back in the running.
As we’re always prone to reminding readers, the Bengals could always move around on draft day via trade, especially if someone like Herbert impresses and they think they can get him later.
Whether Burrow joins the fray at the Senior Bowl is still up in the air.
