Kemba Walker OUT vs Wizards Monday; Romeo Langford questionable

There’s something going around the Boston Celtics lately, with All-NBA guard Kemba Walker being ruled out of Monday’s tilt with Washington, and rookie Romeo Langford questionable as well.

It’s that time of year where it seems like you can catch a cold — or worse — just from looking at someone, and the Boston Celtics are evidently no exception.

Starting point guard Kemba Walker has missed the team’s last two contest due to flu-like symptoms, and has been ruled out of Monday’s game against the Washington Wizards Sunday afternoon.

To make matters worse, rookie wing Romeo Langford may miss the game as well, presumably dealing with whatever has been going around the roster in recent days.

First-year dunk machine Javonte Green was ill but available for the Dec. 20 Chicago Bulls win, and Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, and Jayson Tatum have also all recently dealt with (probably unrelated) illness in recent weeks.

With a busy January schedule mostly filled with teams possessing a losing record, the Celtics can afford to rest ill players.

Even so, Boston should be thankful for the competent depth the front office has assembled — many a team in the league would be reeling from so many sick bodies.
