Week 17 of the NFL season is a time for players to get a shot at making a name for themselves, especially if they are on the roster bubble. After much of the playoff picture is set, NFL teams will put in players who haven’t had much playing time that season to see what they have. For a player like Andrew Beck, this playing time is invaluable.
Beck came to Texas as a linebacker, but was moved to tight end for his sophomore year. He started to make more of an impact in his senior year, where he caught 28 passes for 281 yards and 2 touchdowns. His play on the field, especially his blocking ability, got him picked up by the Denver Broncos earlier this season. Against the Broncos’ division rival Raiders, the former Longhorn was able to get into the endzone for the first time in his career:
