A Bills assistant coach has their name connected to a vacant head coaching position as “Black Monday” in the league rounds out.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Buffalo offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will interview with the Cleveland Browns for their head coaching job.
Freddie Kitchens was fired by the team on Monday, the day which is given its nickname because of the numerous head coaching firings which occur the day after a season ends across the NFL.
Daboll, 44, grew up in the Orchard Park area and attended St. Francis High School. Along with his two seasons with the Bills which he spent grooming quarterback Josh Allen, Daboll won five Super Bowl titles with the Patriots in various assistant roles.
Daboll has also served as the offensive coordinator for the Dolphins, Chiefs and Browns from 2009-10.
The Bills offense finished as the No. 24 unit in the league this year, averaging 330.2 yards per game.
