With the 2019 regular season reaching its conclusion on Sunday, the 2020 opponents for most teams have now been set. That became official for the New York Giants following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Atlanta Falcons game.
The Giants, who secured a third-place finish in the NFC East with a Week 16 victory over the Washington Redskins, were simply awaiting the final NFC South standings to see who their final opponent would be.
They now know.
Here’s a look at Big Blue’s home and away opponents in 2020:
Home: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Away: Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens.
Five of the Giants’ 2020 opponents are going to the playoffs this season (assuming Pittsburgh gets in), which means they face a much tougher potential schedule than they have in recent years.
Of course, a lot changes in the offseason. How free agency, the NFL Draft and personnel changes shake out will determine just how easy or difficult the above slate really is.
