Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle is expected to be re-evaluated in 2-4 weeks with a right knee sprain but the guard could return on the shorter end of that timeline, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
The news of the injury first surfaced on Sunday after Thybulle was forced to leave early on Saturday night during a 125-108 win over the Washington Wizards.
The Sixers initially indicated Thybulle would be out indefinitely but there is apparently optimism, per Haynes’ report, that the first-round pick could return sooner than initially expected.
Thybulle has been among the top defenders in the league this season and recently began to turn the corner on offense. Thybulle is averaging 6.4 points and is shooting 54.5% from 3-point range in 11 December games.
The full timeline on Sixers rookie Matisse Thybulle is 2-4 weeks with a right knee sprain, but there is optimism he could be cleared at the two-week re-evaluation date, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Without Thybulle, the Sixers defeated the Detroit Pistons on Monday. Thybulle could miss as many as seven games on his current timetable, including a Christmas Day matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.
