Report: Giants to workout CFL QB Nick Arbuckle

The New York Giants will work out CFL quarterback Nick Arbuckle later this month.

The New York Giants appear set at the quarterback position for the long-term, but that won’t stop them from doing their due diligence, especially considering both Eli Manning and Alex Tanney are likely to depart this offseason.

Accordingly, the team will host a slew of quarterback during one of their upcoming Tuesday workout sessions and CFL gun slinger Nick Arbuckle will be among those in attendance.

The 26-year-old Arbuckle posted a record of 4-3 for the Calgary Stampeders this season in place of injured starter Bo Levi Mitchell, completing 174 of his 238 passes for 2,103 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran 27 times for 76 yards.

A pending free agent, Arbuckle, who signed with the Stampeders as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and briefly spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers at rookie mini-camp, has his sights set on becoming a starter in the CFL or a backup in the NFL (for now).

In 2015 with Georgia State, Arbuckle set a Sun Belt record with 3,368 passing yards along. He also set school records in completions (307) and touchdowns (28).
