Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle recorded a career-high 20 points in 31 minutes of work on Sunday during a 110-104 win over the Toronto Raptors.
The first-round pick finished by shooting an efficient 6-of-9 from the field, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range. He also added three assists, three steals, two rebounds and one block.
Thybulle entered the game as questionable to play after rolling his right ankle on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He left the game after the first half and did not return. On Sunday, he showed no signs of being hobbled by injury after topping his previous career-high of 15 points set on Nov. 27.
His five 3-pointers in the contest were also a career-high.
Thybulle has played sporadically this season with the Sixers as he adjusts to the level of competition. He has been a standout on the defensive end while his offensive game has been a work in progress.
Afterward, Thybulle earned high praise from teammate Tobias Harris.
He came in and his energy was amazing. He was able to knock down big shots, big threes that really pushed our lead each and every time they tried to make a run. He was amazing out there. He’s an amazing player, amazing person, amazing rookie. Every night I’m on him each and every game to continue to progress and continue to stay ready and locked in. He’s really catching his stride now.

The Sixers will certainly hope Thybulle can continue to string together some strong offensive nights off the bench. While the team may not always need him to score 20 each night, his activity on the offensive end and ability to spot up from beyond the arc will be crucial throughout the season.
Philadelphia returns to action on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets.
