The Seattle Seahawks were able to escape the Philadelphia Eagles with a win and relatively no new injuries. Coach Pete Carroll updated the health of the team during his press conference on Monday.
Defensive tackle Jarran Reed (ankle): “He’s got a sprained ankle,” Carroll said. “We have to wait and see how it’s going to hold him back or if he’s going to make it through. We don’t that yet. It’s the same ankle that was sprained before. He just re-did it. Give us a couple days and then we’ll check him out probably about Friday to see how he’s doing.”
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (hernia): “It’s related to that, the sports hernia stuff,” Carroll explained of Clowney’s recent procedure. “That’s what he was treated for. We’ll see how the treatment took hold. He feels pretty good today. I haven’t talked to him directly, but he’s passed along that he’s looking forward to playing this week.”
Tight end Jacob Hollister (foot): “He’s a little sore, his foot’s sore after the hit,” Carroll confirmed. “That was a nasty play for him right there. Jake has been a stud. He’s taken a lot of hits; he delivered a lot them. Man, he’s playing good ball. He’s just doing such a good job, I’m so excited for Jake. Want to talk about a great pick up, he was a great pick up for us. He’s come through I such a big way, he still contributing in a big way for us on special teams too. I’m really excited about that.”
Tight end Luke Willson (hamstring): “Luke’s not counting himself out of this one,” Carroll stated. “He thinks he’s got a whole other week and he’s going to make it. We won’t challenge him until late in the week to see where it is. In pregame yesterday he looked pretty quick, he was running around and showing off, talking about that he wanted to play yesterday. He’s a rare guy, over the years he’s overcome stuff he never should have played with. That’s why the wolverine nickname floats around.”
Wide receiver Tyler Lockett (lower leg): “Yeah, Lockett’s better today,” Carroll said. “He feels better today. I didn’t see him at top speed, as much as we would have liked to think he was but, I didn’t see him able to get there. He didn’t have a very productive week. He had to really wait out the week, and it was a pretty screwed up weekend and all that. The long week this time, he’s going to be flying.”
The Seahawks have an off day Tuesday but resume practice Wednesday to gear up to face the Vikings Monday night.
