Warriors’ Eric Paschall leads all rookies in one key statistical area

Golden State Warriors rookie Eric Paschall continued his hot start to the season on Friday by recording 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a loss to the Utah Jazz.

The second-round pick has been a bright spot for the Warriors in an otherwise disappointing season after dropping to a league-worst 3-14 on Friday. The team has battled through several injuries, which has opened the door for Paschall, Jordan Poole, Ky Bowman and others.

Paschall is now averaging 16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16 games this season for the Warriors. His 268 total points are first among all rookies, topping the 246 points by Kendrick Nunn and the 241 points by Ja Morant.

While the Warriors have certainly struggled this season, the hopes of making the playoffs in the Western Conference are quickly fading so early in the season. The team likely won’t have Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson back until next season so they figure to be playing for the future.

The Warriors play next on Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
