What’s Going To Happen
It’s Cincinnati’s chance to win the East title, and it’s Temple’s shot to make this really, really fun.
Here’s the deal. If UC wins, it’s the East champ and it’s off to play Memphis next week and then likely against – although it’s hardly a lock – in the AAC Championship.
If Temple wins, then all it has to do is beat UConn next week and then hope Memphis can beat the Bearcats … and hope for a UCF loss in the last two games.
The Owls haven’t been all that consistent, but the offensive line has been terrific, the defensive line lives in the backfield, and there’s been just enough offense to win its last two games to get back into title contention. However, it’s had a bit of an issue with turnovers, and the Bearcats are great at forcing them.
UC has allowed 17 points or fewer in three of the last four games. It’s going to step up in the final home game of the year and keep the Owl offense from going on enough long marches. Temple isn’t good enough on third downs, and it’ll be the death blow.
Cincinnati will throw better on the way to the division title.
