Trained with pros in high school
Davis is still young. He’ll be only 21 years old his entire rookie season so he’ll have plenty of time to teach himself some NFL tools. Prior to going to UCF, Davis attended Seminole High School in Florida. All the way back to those days, he was used to being around NFL talent. Chatting with our friends at Draft Wire, Davis said that’s something that has him ready to compete in the NFL.
“I just felt like I’ve progressed every single year. It was an easy decision for me. I’ve been around the pros since high school. I feel like I’m ready to compete at the highest level,” Davis said. “I’ve worked out with Tom Shaw down in Orlando. If you’re familiar with him, you know he’s trained a lot of guys for the combine and what not. He’s trained some superstars such as Derrick Henry, Dak Prescott, Saquon Barkley and so on. I’ve been blessed to spend a lot of time around guys like that. I was able to watch them and study them. It gave me great insight into how a pro should conduct himself. I’ve tried to take those things and incorporate them into my lifestyle. I feel like I’m ready for what’s next.”
Not a bad group on guys to see up close and personal as a teenager.
UFC WR Gabriel Davis is a big outside target that knows how to win with physicality and great ball tracking.
Bottom of screen. Stiff jab with inside hand creates space off the line, works to stack and hold the red line, subtle push off creates late seperation. #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/Ap45y6robC
