The Bills stepped up to the virtual podium at the 2020 NFL Draft and started their Day 3 pick with a long-awaited prospect in Gabriel Davis.
Fans might not know about Davis, but he’s just the type of guy they have clamored for. While liking Buffalo’s receiving core in 2019, and while loving Stefon Diggs’ addition, the size still wasn’t there.
It is now.
With that, here are nine things to know about new Bills WR Gabriel Davis:
Another record breaker
In college, Buffalo’s third-round pick, Utah running back Zack Moss, dominated and set some school records. Davis did more of the same at UCF. The junior had 1,241 receiving yards last season. That’s good for the UCF single-season record. Along with that, the 6-foot-3 playmaker had 23 touchdowns are second-most in school history, a record he would have had a shot to break had he returned for his season year.
He also averaged 17.2 yards per catch last year, a massive deep-threat target. Per Pro Football Focus, his seven touchdowns of 20-plus yards were the most among all draft-eligible players. Overall in 34 career games at UCF, Davis had 2,447 receiving yards. That deep-threat ability inside a big body is exactly what many fans wanted for the Bills, and they’ve now gotten it.
