Underrated defense
While the Bills did put up a 37 spot on the Dolphins last week, don’t expect it happen again this week. In fact, the Broncos only allowed 30 points once this season and that’s their season-high allowed. It came against the high-flying Chiefs. So really, really don’t expect it.
Like the Bills, the defense leads the way in Denver. The Bills are the third-ranked defense currently while the Broncos have shot up the board in recent weeks and are now at No. 4 (310.8 yards allowed per game). Against the pass, the Broncos rank fifth in the NFL (210.3) and their run defense has steadily improved, as it’s down to 11th (100.5). Currently their 19.7 yards allowed per game ranks ninth-best in the NFL.
Pass rusher Von Miller and a strong secondary with Chris Harris Jr., Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson lead this defense. Simmons and Jackson are the No. 2 and No. 6 ranked safeties in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. Miller currently has five sacks this season.
