What about the wideouts?
Finally, like Beane, McDermott gave nothing away on what he wants in a wide receiver. A big guy? Small guy? Fast guy?
Who cares?
“Let’s start with a guy that can catch the football,” McDermott said.
“I think people look passed that some times. People get enamored with speed and things that stand out and will get talked about here in a couple of days when these men run the 40. That’s great. But at the end of the day you’ve got to be able to play the position,” McDermott added. “That trust with the quarterback…. that’s important.”
The Bills likely need a bigger receiver this offseason and would be silly not to add another. John Brown and Cole Beasley played well, but the Bills could see some to help with contested catches in the red zone… and all over the field, really.
Plus, Buffalo doesn’t really have a youthful talent in that group, either. Get someone who can grow with your quarterback.
