8 Browns practice squad players become free agents Monday

Eight players from the team’s practice squad did not come to an agreement on future/reserve deals and are now free agents:

The 2022 NFL offseason gets started quickly for some teams and some of their practice squad players. As we’ve covered, the team has added kept a number of players on future/reserve deals in the last couple of weeks.

A week ago, the team signed eight players to such deals including Alex Taylor, Johnny Stanton and Curtis Weaver. They followed that up with three others including Chris Blewitt the next day. Finally, Herb Miller was signed to his reserve/future deal.

Monday players from teams’ practice squads that had not signed a deal with their team had their contracts expire. For Cleveland, eight players became free agents:

  • DB Brian Allen
  • DB Adrian Colbert
  • DE Joe Jackson
  • RB John Kelly
  • RB Benny LeMay
  • DB Jovante Moffatt
  • RB Artavis Pierce
  • DB Tedric Thompson

Those eight are now able to sign future/reserve deals with any team in the league. Jackson and Moffatt played important snaps for the Browns down the stretch and could be looking for more than a future/reserve deal this offseason.
