Best defense Norman has played on?

When trying to look for the positives in regard to Norman’s signing, they’re semi obvious but let’s state them here.

The defensive structure he’s stepping into might be the best he’s ever played in. That includes his 2015 All-Pro season. That year, the Panthers fell in the Super Bowl to the Broncos but having said that, quarterback Cam Newton led the way. He was the MVP that year.

Now, Carolina’s defense wasn’t bad, either. They were the sixth-best in the NFL in 2015. But the Bills have been even better the past two seasons, ranking as a top-three unit in both seasons. Plus, Norman has been an investment as a No. 1 cornerback for both the Panthers and Redskins. He won’t be doing anything of the sort now. Tre White’s got that covered.

Furthermore, he’s returning to the defense he was an All-Pro in since McDermott was his defensive coordinator in 2015 with the Panthers. While some might groan about Norman’s signing because of his undoubted bad play with the Redskins in recent seasons… but there’s also reason for optimism.
