Galveston (TX) Ball High School’s star athlete and Texas Longhorns’ top-ranked 2025 commit, Jonah Williams, will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a broken collarbone during his game against Mt. Belvieu (TX) Barbers Hill on October 25. Williams committed to Texas in August.
This is a significant blow to Ball High’s Texas State Title aspirations, as Williams’ impressive skills on both sides of the ball have set him apart as one of the nation’s most dynamic prospects.
The injury occurred in the second half of Ball High’s narrow loss to Barbers Hill when Williams was returning an interception. Known for his relentless playing style and versatility, the five-star recruit was making an impact as both a safety and offensive threat, registering over 50 all-purpose yards, two offensive touchdowns, three tackles, and an interception before the unfortunate play that ended his season.
Williams’ contributions this fall have been invaluable for Ball High. As a standout on both offense and defense, he’s delivered multiple touchdowns through offensive plays and special teams, showcasing the athleticism that caught the eye of Texas recruiters early on.
