One of the very best players in the 2023 recruiting class is set to make a visit to the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night.
Ducks Wire has received confirmation that 5-star EDGE Matayo Uiagalelei will be arriving in Eugene on Saturday night and meeting with Dan Lanning and the Oregon coaching staff. Uiagalelei is rated as the No. 1 EDGE in the 2023 recruiting class, and the No. 19 player overall, according to 247Sports.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds, Uiagalelei has some impressive speed and get off that pairs well with his elite size coming off of the edge. As the younger brother of Clemson Tigers’ starting QB DJ Uiagalelei, Matayo comes from an elite football family that is well known in the college football world.
To be 6’6” 270 pounds and feet like that…👀👀👀💨💨💨 pic.twitter.com/eTIgNqZf9z

Matayo’s speed💨 to power💪🏽 plus size (6’6” 270 lbs) = bad news for the QB 🤕 I’m excited for his senior year. He’s focusing on DE and that’s going to be a problem for the opposing team 😤 @IonaCoach with THE FRONT training. pic.twitter.com/hp24OQS4eX

According to 247 Sports, Uiagalelei has 20 offers thus far, with schools like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, Michigan, and USC all joining the Ducks in recruiting the elite prospect.
The fact that Uiagalelei is coming to Eugene for a visit can not be stated as anything other than a massive win for Lanning and the Ducks. 5-star prospects Nico Iamaleava Jr., the No. 4 QB in the 2023 class, and Dante Moore, the No. 3 QB in the 2023 class were also in Eugene this weekend for unofficial visits, and now one of the highest-rated defenders in the nation is coming as well.

We knew that Lanning and his staff of recruiters were going to impress when it came to getting top talent to Eugene, but I think even the most optimistic fans have to be blown away by the amount of talent that the Ducks have brought in for visits already.
