IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) defensive lineman [autotag]David Stone[/autotag] is one of the premier talents in the class of 2024, and Florida’s coaching staff has been developing a relationship with him for almost a year now.
Those efforts seem to have paid off as a June official visit to the Swamp becomes increasingly likely for Stone, according to All Gators.
“It’s one of the first weekends (of June),” Stone said. “Sometime, either the first, second, third, it’s one of them.”
Stone is lining up a few visits for the summer and is likely to stop by Miami, Michigan State and Oregon. He has 34 offers in total and is looking to narrow things down to make the correct decision.
The recent trend of early commitments and subsequent decommitments has him weary of committing too early, and he’s slowly backing off his prior decision to commit over the summer.
Stone is a five-star recruit on every major recruiting site, except for On3 where he is a four-star recruit. Still, the On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major services, places him at No. 10 overall nationally and No. 2 among defensive linemen in the class of 2024.
ESPN is the highest on him at No. 5 overall and No. 1 among those in his position group.
