5-star 2026 QB Jared Curtis plans to visit Oregon ahead of commitment

The Oregon Ducks will get a visit from 5-star QB Jared Curtis next month ahead of his expected commitment this summer.

Quarterback recruiting has been a hot topic for the Oregon Ducks over the past couple of months, with the addition of 2024 QB Luke Moga coming on top of the addition of Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel and UCLA QB Dante Moore via the transfer portal.

Now it also appears that they are trying to get in a good position to land the No. 1 QB in the 2026 class, Jared Curtis, who plans to make his commitment at some point this summer. Curtis is rated as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 class, per 247Sports, and he understandably has offers from many of the most prominent schools in the nation.

According to On3, Curtis is planning to take a visit to Eugene next month before making his ultimate commitment decision this summer.

“I will be up at Oregon on Feb. 3 and I am excited about that,” Curtis said, courtesy of On3. “I like how they sling the ball around. They put up big numbers, they had the most yards in college football this past season and what they do stands out to me. It is a school now on my list and I can’t wait to visit.”

While the Ducks’ QB room may look a bit crowded at this point and into the future with a commitment already from 2025 QB Akili Smith Jr., one thing that appeals to Curtis is the sense of competition that exists. He said recently in an interview that he hopes to go somewhere that competition exists where he can go up against the best and work to get better.

“Competition is big for me too. I want to go compete, play with the best and work to do great things.”

The Ducks have a lot of high-profile recruits coming at the end of this month and early in February, plus a hopefully eventful signing day on February 7th where Oregon is in the running to land 5-star WR Gatlin Bair. It could be a banner time for Oregon recruiting.
