5 things we learned on Day 1 of the NCAA tournament Round of 64

John Calipari teams are tough to trust in March.

The first day of the NCAA tournament’s Round of 64 is in the books and there was no bigger shock than Kentucky’s loss to Saint Peter’s. However, that was far from the only upset on the day, as the customary 12-5 upset happened twice — most notably with Iowa falling to Richmond.

Brackets are busted and the tournament is off to the start that includes all the excitement and surprises that make up the “madness” in March Madness. Gonzaga survived a tighter-than-expected 1 vs. 16 game and NBA Draft prospect Jamaree Bouyea went off for 36 points to give Murray State a scare in its opening round matchup with San Francisco.
