Coming of an incredible comeback win on the road at Wisconsin, how would Michigan basketball play in the first game at Crisler Center in nearly a month? Especially against a solid Rutgers team hungry for a win against a Wolverines team that it’s never beaten.
There were some moments where things appeared dicey early, but there were a couple moments where Michigan got hot offensively, helping the maize and blue to pull out a nine-point lead at halftime.
But, how would the Scarlet Knights respond?
About the same as the first half, but with less midrange jumper attempts or success. The Wolverines kept forcing the Scarlet Knights into tough shots and the offense eventually got hot, but had some struggles down the stretch. Still, it was enough to help propel Michigan to a 71-64 win over Rutgers.
