Turnovers happen for Bills defense

Like the offense, Buffalo’s defense had a clear thing they needed to do against the Seahawks. Although, it was a thing that was a lot easier said than done by comparison.

Buffalo’s defense had to get some turnovers and big impact plays against the Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson. Seattle’s only loss of the season came via a three-turnover outing for the Seahawks QB. The Bills did exactly that.

Defensive backs Tre’Davious White and Jordan Poyer both had interceptions of Wilson. Poyer’s was hugely important, coming on a fourth down play and in the end zone. That one helped the Bills maintain a 14-0 lead. Later on in the second half, White intercepted Wilson and brought the ball down near the goal line. It quickly turned into seven points.

In addition, Buffalo also had two forced fumbles on Wilson. One was knocked out by defensive end Jerry Hughes. In total, Wilson was brought down four times for sacks in this one, and then had a late strip-sack by AJ Klein help the Bills get to the finish line.

All this effort combined helped the Bills keep Wilson off the scoreboard… well, at least enough to win the game. Wilson only had two passing scores. He’s had games with five this season. Pretty good job by the Bills defense, all things considered.
