Bills put a team away
Believe it or not, the Bills got a lead… and it was never really threatened, was it? After halftime, the Bills scored on three of their first four drives, putting up 14-straight to start the second half. The Steelers responded and added a two-point conversion to cut to the score to 23-15, a one-possession game.
But even then, the Bills were cruising on offense and continued to do so, not really allowing the Steelers to threaten them. On that ensuing drive, the Bills drove 61 yards on a long 11-play drive. A touchdown was possible, but a Tyler Bass field goal did the trick to bring things back to a two-score game.
Not only did the offense do their job, it was Wallace this time with the timely takeaway as he picked off Roethlisberger at an important point in the game this weekend after Tre’Davious White has had a recent knack for doing so.
Still needing the kill off the game, Buffalo held the ball on offense for the final 7:11 seconds of the game as the rushing attack with both running backs and Allen taking time off the clock.
The Bills really had not slammed the door on anyone at any point this year. They finally did, against perhaps a perfect opponent, at the perfect time. This team is again showing they’re hitting their stride at the perfect time.
