Shaq could cash in

Show Shaq the money? If the Bills don’t somebody might.

For the second time in his career, the former Bills first-round pick had two sacks in one game. Lawson looked excellent on both of them. On his first, his speed allowed him to get around the edge untouched while his second saw him beat his man inside with a quick move. Lawson’s two sacks got him to five on the year, which is the most he’s had in a single season. He hit four twice. His pass rushing as a former first rounder is the big knock on him and the Bills didn’t pick up the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, likely because of that.

Lawson’s always been praised for his run defense, but if he can put the whole package together, the Bills should look to re-sign him this offseason. It doesn’t appear any bridges were burned with Buffalo not putting the tag on him, but one has to believe he’ll test the free agent waters.

Simply put, he’s looked better than Trent Murphy, too.
