Defending those running backs?

On the flip side, the Patriots’ running backs beat up Buffalo in Week 16. Both on the ground and in the air. Their entire offense hasn’t had a great season, but it look efficient against the Bills, unfortunately.

Carrying the rock, Sony Michel had 96 yards on 21 carries. Rex Burkhead had a big game in the air, leading the Patriots with four grabs and 77 yards, but Burkhead also scored on the ground, too. The screen game is what really bit the Bills bad. Aside from an early forced fumble by Jordan Poyer, it was from bad to worse for the Bills’ run defense.

But even Tom Brady had a much better game as well. The QB was 26-for-33 passing for 271 yards with a touchdown of his own. While the Bills’ starters on defense won’t play much, they’ll want to feel confident heading into Wild Card weekend.
