Any flashes of potential?
On the flip side of the Bills’ starting players likely not playing much, there has to be somebody playing, right?
Once the starters sit, the backups will do their best to give the Bills a season-sweep over the Jets after Buffalo won their Week 1 encounter, 17-16.
Of those guys that will be lining up in a backup role, it will certainly be a bit of an audition of sorts since most of them don’t get much playing time or usually spend time on the inactive list.
Offensively, TJ Yeldon should come off the inactive list with Duke Williams to see plenty of snaps. Additionally, Robert Foster, who’s been up-and-down in terms of playing time, should see a lot. Reserve offensive lineman such as Ryan Bates and Spencer Long should also play, too.
On defense, special team aces/ linebackers Corey Thompson and Julian Stanford will see snaps. Early in the season defensive end and preseason hero Darryl Johnson saw his snaps erased in the defensive line rotation. He should get looks in this one as well.
And of course, there’s Matt Barkley, who beat the Jets last season, for what it’s worth.
