5 storylines to watch for during Bills at Patriots

Will Devin Singletary solve fumble issues?

Rounding things out, let’s stick to the Bills offense. Can rookie running back Devin Singletary have a bounce-back game? The Bills might need him in this one.

Last week Singletary had two fumbles against the Steelers. One of them he lost for the first time in his career. With that in mind, the Patriots secondary is maybe the only one better than Buffalo’s. Their run defense? That’s the way to attack this team. Even the Bengals put up a 100-plus yard rusher on these guys last week (Joe Mixon). Overall, the Patriots have the No. 7 run defense in the NFL, allowing 98.1 yards per game. They’ve also only surrendered six rushing scores on the ground all year. Still, a Singletary-Josh Allen game on the ground could be the perfect formula. Any fumbles for Singletary could ruin all that, though.

The silver lining: When Singletary had two fumbles in a single game earlier this year, he didn’t cough it up the ensuing game at all.
