5 reasons that could explain why the Saints are going with Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston

OK, so the Saints are serious about this whole Taysom Hill thing. With Drew Brees sidelined, it was assumed that Jameis Winston would be starting for the next few games but it’s now looking like the world’s most expensive QB3 will be elevated to the top of the depth chart. 

After giving Hill a majority of the first-team reps at practice, the Saints will reportedly give the 30-year-old quarterback of the future his first career start. The BYU product has attempted only 18 passes in his career and has never thrown a touchdown in regular season play. With the Saints in a battle for the No. 1 seed, which is far more important now that only one team gets a first-round bye in each conference, it’s a risky move and one that left a lot of people asking “why?”
