3. LB Josh Uche – MICHIGAN
Last season, linebacker Josh Uche came out of nowhere and made an impact for the Wolverines defense with his pass-rushing abilities. This year Uche has gotten better and has been able to create even more pressure and be a problem for opposing defenses.
Per @PFF_College, here are the top pass rushers in the nation on a per snap basis (min. 150 snaps):
1. Josh Uche (Michigan) – generates a pressure once every 4.55 pass rush snaps
2. Chris Rumph II (Duke) – 4.64
3. Chase Young (Ohio State) – 4.71
4. Terrell Lewis (Alabama) – 4.96— Jarad Evans (@Jarad_Evans) November 26, 2019
Per @PFF_College, here are the top-5 defenders in the nation according to pass-rush win percentage:
1. Chase Young (Ohio State) – 32.3%
2. Josh Uche (Michigan) – 30.8%
3. Chris Rumph II (Duke) – 30.8%
4. Curtis Weaver (Boise State) – 28.5%
5. Jordan Smith (UAB) – 24.9%— Jarad Evans (@Jarad_Evans) November 18, 2019
While Uche isn’t putting up the monster stats like others on the list, the fact that he’s in the same discussion is something worth noting. Uche this season has 31 total tackles, 10.5 for loss, seven and a half sacks, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection. He’s not getting talked about as much, but Uche could be a problem for Ohio State on Saturday as he plays against them for the first time ever.
