The secondary might just be the most significant need on this team, with the Raiders having such a horrendous year stopping the pass. The cornerback position will be heavily evaluated position during the draft process, and one of the best of the group is Dane Jackson from Pittsburgh.
Jackson finished his career with four career interceptions and 39 pass deflections which displays that he is always around the football. The former Pitt player has the length, and man coverage skills the Raiders covet, which fits Paul Guenther’s defensive scheme.
You rarely see Jackson get beat on tape and is always position to make a play on the football. The flip side of this is the physical corner has the opportunity to approve his technique to avoid penalties where he can become grabby with the ball in the air. However, his tackling ability and toughness are top-notch, and he is a player the Raiders could add on Day 2, early Day 3.
