5 of the most memorable Christmas Day performances by a rookie player

With a new crop of players set to play, Rookie Wire took a look at some of the best Christmas Day performances by rookie players.

1960: Oscar Robertson, Cincinnati Royals

Fun Fact: Robertson has a ton of triple-doubles, and four of them occurred on Christmas Day.

Robertson ranks first all-time with 181 triple-doubles and recorded one of them in 1960 when he had 32 points, 16 assists and 15 rebounds against the Detroit Pistons.

Only five other players in history have recorded a triple-double on Christmas:

  • Draymond Green (2017)
  • Russell Westbrook (2013)
  • LeBron James (2010)
  • Billy Cunningham (1970)
  • John Havlicek (1967)

Robertson is second on the all-time Christmas Day scoring list with 377 total points, trailing only Kobe Bryant (395). James needs 40 points to pass Robertson for second place with 338.
