5 Bills takeaways from Day 2 of 2020 NFL Draft

Takeaways from the second and third rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft and the Buffalo Bills.

Sounds like receiver is in-play soon

Epenesa was taken by the Bills at No. 54. Beane had an interesting admission of sorts. While Epenesa comes to Buffalo, Beane said he was considering going wide receiver there. However, there was a run on players early in the second round that Beane said he didn’t see coming.

“There was a run at wide receiver in the second round and that would have been in the mix for us at 54. However, we weren’t going to dip down,” Beane said.

That “run” included Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman and Laviska Shenault all being selected before the Bills, among others. But from the sounds of Beane’s quote, Buffalo is going to add a wideout at some point on Day 3 on Saturday.

Options for Beane and the Bills still left include John Hightower, Collin Johnson, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Antonio Gandy-Golden. All three wouldn’t push anyone on the Bills’ current roster for playing time, rather, they’d be developmental pieces.
