Michigan State brought in new football head coach Mel Tucker largely because of his recruiting prowess, and 2022 will be the first recruiting class where Tucker really has the chance to prove his ability to land top recruits for the Spartans. Well, it looks like we are starting to see the inklings of that on the horizon.
On Wednesday, Rivals analyst Rob Cassidy posted an interview with 2022 4-star quarterback Jayden Denegal from Apple Valley, California and in it, Denegal said that MSU has an early lead on his recruitment, along with Utah.
“Michigan State and Utah are really standing out right now. Those are the major ones standing out.”
In the interview, Denegal mentioned that his brother went to Utah, so the family ties might give the Utes a big advantage, but either way, it’s just great to hear that the Spartans are in top contention for a player of Denegal’s caliber. He’s the No. 9 ranked pro style QB in his class so this would be a major land for Tucker and the Spartans.
