The Oregon Ducks were in the mix to land another Nix and put him on the roster next year, but they ultimately couldn’t land the plane at the moment.
On Monday afternoon, 4-star LB Gavin Nix announced that he would be committing to the Miami Hurricanes, choosing Mario Cristobal and his team over the Ducks and Florida State Seminoles.
Nix is rated as the No. 88 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 11 linebacker.
Nix took an official visit to Eugene last month and left giving great impressions of his time with the Ducks. It wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see Lanning continue to recruit him over the coming months and try to flip him before the signing period in December.
