4-star in-state defensive lineman inks NLI with Michigan State football

MSU officially locks in Frankenmuth (MI) 4-star defensive lineman

Michigan State football found a hidden gem in the 2025 recruiting class just over an hour from campus. Frankenmuth (MI) defensive lineman Derrick Simmons has showed out to be the highest rated commit in the Spartans class.

Simmons, a 6-foot-3, 270 pound defensive tackle, is someone that will come to Michigan State at a gigantic position of need. He is rated as the No. 247 overall recruit in the nation, as well as the No. 30 defensive lineman and No. 3 in the state of Michigan. He is a 4-star prospect.

Simmons officially inked his NLI deal to come to East Lansing.
