We are just a couple of weeks away from the Oregon Ducks getting the 2022 football season going with the start of spring ball. While there are numerous storylines to follow and players to watch during that time, one thing that we are certainly paying attention to is the new class of Ducks coming to Eugene.

More specifically, which former recruits will be enrolling at Oregon early and joining the team for the spring season?

Ducks Wire has received confirmation that 4-star CB Jahlil Florence will be enrolling early and taking part in team activities this spring.

Florence was one of the more impactful recruits of Dan Lanning’s young tenure with the Ducks since Oregon was able to land him over the USC Trojans. Florence was originally committed to Oregon but opened up his recruitment following the departure of Mario Cristobal. Lanning made a point that he was of the utmost priority for the Ducks, choosing to FaceTime him in the minutes after the national championship game at Georgia and recruit him to Eugene.

While the Ducks need some depth at the cornerback position, it’s hard to predict how much of an impact Florence will have on the field in his first collegiate season. We are still waiting to see whether Dontae Manning or Trikweze Bridges will be able to step up as the No. 1 CB on the defense, and the addition of Colorado’s Christian Gonzalez through the transfer portal certainly helped.

Throughout spring ball, though, we will get a chance to see what Florence can do at the next level and get a feeling for how much of an impact he can have in 2022.
