4-star 2022 California DL Hero Kanu has Georgia in his top-9

2022 four-star defensive lineman Hero Kanu (Rancho Santa Margarita, California) placed Georgia in his top nine schools last week, according to On3Recruits.

Kanu, a 6-foot-5, 293-pound lineman, ranks as the nation’s No. 82 overall player according to 247Sports.

Kanu actually grew up playing soccer before moving to America and picking up football.

Kanu’s top nine schools are: Alabama, Clemson, Washington, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas, USC and Ohio State.

Georgia offered Kanu at the beginning of June.

He told 247Sports that Georgia was the “first school they visited on tour loved it.”

“I’ve had a lot of contact with them before the visit, and I’m really close with coach Scott, the DL coach. I actually visited twice. The first time, we did a tour and then the camp, then after the Clemson visit, I wanted to go back and spend more time with the coaches and see more of the campus. The next time I talk with coach Smart and coach Scott, I’m going to try and get an official visit set up with them.”
