The Seattle Seahawks on Saturday pushed themselves closer to the 49ers in the race for NFC West supremacy when they traded a trio of draft picks and safety Bradley McDougald to the Jets in exchange for All-Pro safety Jamal Adams. While the addition of Adams makes the Seahawks’ secondary more formidable, 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel remains unfazed.
Samuel took to Twitter after the deal was reported and explained he’s not worrying about the 49ers’ biggest rival adding one of the NFL’s best defensive backs.
Yes the Seahawks got Jamal. Y’all can stop writing me talking crazy lol. DEEBO ain’t never feared a soul on that gridiron or in real life ‼️

It’s not a surprise a player nicknamed ‘Deebo’ after the bully in the movie ‘Friday’ takes on a fearless mindset. That mentality is also apparent in his play.
Samuel is extremely tough to bring down after the catch and runs with the physicality of a running back.
Adams and Samuel will undoubtedly have their share of head-to-head matchups. The 49ers’ second-year wide receiver is dominant on run plays where Adams will be tasked with getting to the edge and trying to make a play. Samuel is also used plenty in the middle of the field where Adams will likely roam in the Seahawks’ secondary.
A fractured foot could wind up sidelining Samuel for a couple weeks in the regular season, but he should be healthy in time for both meetings with Seattle. The 49ers and Seahawks don’t meet up until Week 8. They play again Week 17. Samuel should be healthy by that first game.
Given the hard-nosed style both players play with, their matchups should be a lot of fun to watch.
