The 49ers are making a couple more roster moves. They’ll be placing defensive end Jordan Willis on IR and promoting DE Kemoko Turay from the practice squad per multiple 49ers beat writers.
Willis is having a cleanup procedure done on his knee after telling the training staff about some discomfort there Monday per the Athletic’s Matt Barrows. The veteran defensive end was originally let go by the team at final cuts, but re-signed after free safety Jimmie Ward was placed on IR. Willis was inactive for Sunday’s season opener in Chicago.
It was a small surprise Turay was left off the 53-man roster after putting together a good preseason. He signed to the practice squad the day after cuts though and now will hold a place on the active roster and add some defensive end depth for San Francisco.
