The NFL on Tuesday announced the compensatory picks awarded for the 2022 draft. San Francisco by way of coach hirings and players leaving in free agency landed five additional selections. Their comp picks will come in Rounds 3, 6 and 7.
In the third round they’ll pick No. 102 overall and No. 105 overall. In the sixth they hold pick Nos. 220 and 221. In the seventh they’ll snag No. 262, the final pick in the 2022 draft. One of their two third-round comp picks will go to Miami as part of the trade up to No. 3 in last year’s draft.

That leaves San Francisco with nine selections and plenty of ammo to move up and down the board, especially on Day 2 of the draft. With several key needs to address with younger, cost-controlled talent, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the 49ers try and climb up in the second and third rounds, with a jump into the back of Round 1 not out of the question.
